In the first match in Darwin, Tim David rescued Australia with an 83-run knock, guiding them to 178. Kwena Maphaka starred for South Africa and bagged four wickets. In reply, Ryan Rickelton kept the chase alive with his 71. But Ben Dwarshuis and Josh Hazlewood picked up three wickets each and left the visitors stranded at 161/9.
South Africa came back strongly in the second fixture. Dewald Brevis stole the show. He smashed 125 runs off 56 balls, powering the Proteas to 218/7. Dwarshuis and Glenn Maxwell chipped in with two wickets apiece.Â

Australia’s batting faltered again. David’s fighting 50 was not enough as Maphaka continued his fine form. Maphaka and Corbin Bosch took three wickets each and the hosts got bundled out for 165 runs in 17.4 overs.
