In the world of Indian cricket, few players carry themselves like Rohit Sharma. What sets Rohit apart is not just his timing with the bat but also his timing of words.
Always one to offer a dry quip or a deadpan punchline, Rohit’s wit has become as much a part of his public persona as his pull shots.
That sense of humour was on full display after Mumbai Indians’ (MI) campaign in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) came to an end. As the players mingled post-match, veteran leg-spinner Karn Sharma casually walked up to Rohit Sharma. Karn asked Rohit for a bat as a memento. What followed was a response that instantly won over fans online.

Classic Rohit Sharma Adds Laughter to MI’s Goodbye
In a post-match interaction, Karn approached Rohit and requested a bat as a keepsake.
Rohit, never short on humour, delivered a classic response that has now gone viral.
"Mere paas bat nahi hai ab. 6 bats le liya yaar sabne. Pura bhara hua tha bag (I don’t have any bats left. Everyone’s already taken six! The bag was full)."
This exchange quickly gained traction on social media as fans called it peak Rohit humour.
Rohit Sharma's Performance in IPL 2025
In IPL 2025, Rohit put up a decent show with the bat. In 15 matches, he scored 418 runs at an average just shy of 30 with a healthy strike rate close to 150. He struck four half-centuries, with a best of 81 in the Eliminator against Gujarat Titans (GT).
In his last match of the season, the 38-year-old amassed just eight runs in the Qualifier 2 versus Punjab Kings (PBKS) that Mumbai Indians lost by five wickets and therefore eventually bowed out of the tournament.
