Rajasthan Royals coach Rahul Dravid has promised Vaibhav’s father that he’ll train him well to play for India in the future.

Sanjeev, father of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, had a chance to speak with Rajasthan Royals coach Rahul Dravid during the team’s final match of the season. He revealed that Dravid was very impressed with his son's knock. The former India captain assured Sanjeev not to worry about his son  that he’ll take care of him and help shape him into a future India player.

“Rahul Sir had said that your work is over now. Now he is our responsibility. We will take care of him. Now he has become a part of our family. Just ensure that he stays away from mobile and internet media. We will make him a player who can play for the country,” the father said.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s breakout season in IPL 2025 saw Rahul Dravid rise from his wheelchair to applaud the 14-year-old when he smashed the fastest IPL hundred in just his second match  against the Gujarat Titans. Dravid, who has consistently spoken highly of Vaibhav’s potential, believes the youngster still has a long way to go in his career.

Vaibhav’s Post-IPL Discipline

Meanwhile, Sanjeev mentioned that his son had gained some weight after his IPL success, but is now focused on fitness and discipline through a balanced diet.

“No, he doesn't eat anymore. Now he takes a very balanced diet. He goes to the gym. He had gained a lot of weight; he has to reduce it; lose weight,” Suryavanshi senior told Dainik Jagran.

Vaibhav is currently on tour in England with the India U19 team. He recently delivered a stunning knock, scoring 190 runs off 90 balls in a practice match.
