Virat Kohli announced his Test retirement on May 12 just ahead of the Test series against England. The former Indian skipper retired from the format that he was very passionate about and wanted to give it his all.
Kohli retired from Test cricket as the fourth-highest run-getter for India in the format. He played 123 Test matches and scored 9230 runs finishing just 770 runs short of the magical 10000 mark in Test cricket. Now, he has retired from Test and T20I cricket and will only play the ODI format.
One man who has closely followed Virat Kohli's childhood journey to achieving all the laurels on the cricket field is his brother Vikas Kohli. Apart from his younger brother Vikas, Virat Kohli also has a sister named Bhawna Kohli Dhingra. The trio saw the tough days of their life very early when their father, Prem Nath Kohli, who passed away at the age of 54.
Famously, Kohli went to play the next morning and played a match-winning knock after performing the last rites of his father who passed away late night.

Who Is Vikas Kohli?
Vikas Kohli is Virat's elder brother and someone who has been carrying the Kohli family on his shoulders from a very young age. He was a big support in Kohli's international cricket career and hence, when Virat announced his Test retirement, Vikas wrote an emotional note on his Instagram account.
“What an incredible journey champ.. What you have done for the game cannot be replaced. Always proud of you bhai" Vikas wrote.
Vikas Kohli is a successful businessman based in Gurugram. According to DNA, Vikas Kohli runs one of Virat’s most successful businesses called "One8 Commune," a chain of restaurants and bars worldwide. Vikas set up this venture, which is now valued at INR 112 crore. Vikas also manages One8 Select, a shopping and retail business. In 2024, the venture generated a revenue of 112 crores according to several media outlets.
Vikas is married to Chetna Kohli and the two of them have a son named Aarav. Notably, Vikas Kohli is also a fitness freak like his younger brother Virat Kohli. He has an Instagram following of 207K followers. He uses the platform to post regular videos of his fitness sessions.

Virat Kohli in IPL 2025
So far in IPL 2025, Virat Kohli has scored 505 runs from 11 matches in the season. RCB have already qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs with two league games still remaining. Kohli can well finish as the leading run-getter this season if he has good outings in the remaining games. As of now, Sai Sudharhan is leading the Orange Cap race with 617 runs from 12 games.
