The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala is one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the world. Located in the hill station against the backdrop of the snow-covered mountains, the stadium offers a view that changes with the seasons.
Before Dharamshala was chosen, there were plans to build an international stadium in Shimla at Annadale. However, since Annadale is part of an Army cantonment and an important base for ARTRAC Shimla, the proposal could not move forward. The project then shifted to Dharamshala, where the HPCA built a modern stadium with a unique mountain view, colourful stands and facilities such as corporate boxes and a well-designed pavilion.
Over the years, the HPCA Stadium has hosted Ranji Trophy matches, IPL fixtures for Punjab Kings and a number of international games. Fans seated in the stands enjoy cricket with a view of the surrounding valleys and peaks. The stadium has become a favourite for both players and spectators visiting Himachal Pradesh with its combination of world-class cricket facilities and a backdrop of natural beauty.
