It did not take long for things to heat up on Day 2 of the Edgbaston Test between England and India. Just fifteen minutes into the day’s play, India took an early drinks break. However, a few England players could be heard shouting, "Fifteen minutes in the day and you want drinks, lads?"
Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja, however, did not react. They had more important things on his mind. Coming in at a tricky time on Day 1, the duo had already put in the hard work to steady India’s innings.
Adding to overnight score of 310/5, both Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja maintained their dominance over the English bowlers, forging a 203-run partnership, which is now the second-highest sixth-wicket stand by an Indian pair at Edgbaston.

On the second morning, just fifteen minutes into play, Gill and Jadeja were met with some sharp words from the England players as the teams paused briefly for drinks. Someone from the England camp shouted, "Fifteen minutes in the day and you want drinks, lads?"
It was a clear attempt to throw the Indians off rhythm. However, they simply carried on with their game, fully focused on the task at hand. The moment added a bit of fire to the session.
There was another flashpoint on Day 1 when Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ben Stokes had a tense exchange in the middle. The England captain said something to Jaiswal, who turned back and replied:
